Nightscapes
I started this series in January 2012 while visiting with family in Foley, Alabama. The lighting on the local Cactus Café there was reminiscent of Edward Hopper’s work and I felt inspired to revisit the café (via painting) after returning to New Hampshire. This led to a series of paintings of New Hampshire scenes that employed the same sharp contrasts and colors often seen after dark. All works are original acrylic paintings, 6 x 9 inches on Arches cover white rag paper and matted in archival matting and foam core material.
